Where Are The Places To Visit In Kenya?

When most people picture Africa, it’s Kenya that comes to mind. This East African gem tops many safari bucket lists—and for good reason. The best time to visit Kenya is from June to October, when dry weather and comfortable temperatures offer ideal conditions for safari travel. Thanks to its varied geography and pleasant climate, Kenya is a top year-round destination for both safari adventures and beach escapes.

Kenya safari hotspots also shine from January through March, with mostly dry weather and excellent wildlife sightings. Visiting during the rainy seasons—mid-March to June and November to December—can be rewarding too. You’ll avoid high-season crowds and benefit from discounted rates at safari lodges across Kenya.

When to go to Kenya’s beach destinations depends on personal preference. The Indian Ocean coast is consistently hot and humid year-round, with rainfall possible at any time—making it perfect for spontaneous tropical getaways.

Month By Month Guide For Travelling To Kenya:

Visiting Kenya In January & February

January and February are excellent months to visit Kenya, offering prime game viewing and warm, dry weather. It’s the best time for a Kenya safari or beach escape. Wildlife gathers at watering holes in the Masai Mara, and Mount Kenya offers ideal trekking conditions under sunny skies with minimal rainfall.

Travelling To Kenya From March To May

In March, Kenya transitions from hot and dry to rainy, with muddy roads and fewer crowds. April is the wettest month—great for photography with lush landscapes and dramatic skies. By May, rains peak, game drives are tricky, and the coast is less ideal for beach holidays. Travel is cheaper, though.

Amboseli National Park in Kenya

Considered the “Home of the African Elephant”, and sitting proudly on the foothills of Africa’s most iconic tower of a mountain – Kilimajaro – Amboseli National Park is a biodiversity hotspot and an absolute spectacle for the senses.
