7-days to explore Rwanda’s primates & Uganda Wildlife

Arrive at Kigali Airport, meet your guide, and transfer to your hotel for your overnight stay in Kigali City. Optionally, explore Kigali with your private guide by visiting local markets, the Rwandan Art gallery, and the Kigali Genocide Museum to learn more about the history of Rwanda.

After breakfast, set off on a 2-hour drive to Ruhengeri in northern Rwanda, enjoying scenic views along the way. Upon arrival, visit the Ellen DeGeneres–Diane Fossey Campus in Musanze for a guided tour, where you’ll learn about gorilla behavior and the conservation work of Dian Fossey.

Enjoy an early breakfast before heading to the park headquarters for a briefing ahead of your gorilla trekking experience. After the briefing, set out with experienced rangers to track a gorilla family in the forest. Once located, you’ll spend up to one hour observing them in their natural habitat. After this unforgettable encounter, return to the lodge to relax and stay overnight.

In the early morning, enter the park for a guided golden monkey tracking experience. These lively primates are typically found on the mid-slopes of the mountain, as they prefer lower altitudes. Enjoy up to one hour observing them in their natural habitat before embarking on a 2-hour drive to Kisoro-Uganda for an overnight stay.

After breakfast, embark on a 6-hour drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park. Along the way, enjoy scenic views of the beautiful hilly landscapes and the vast banana plantations of the Ankole region.

In the evening, you will enjoy a game drive in the Kasenyi Plains, where you are likely to encounter several wildlife species, including lions, elephants, hippos, antelopes, and many others.

Early in the morning, embark on a game drive adventure to explore the rich wildlife of Queen Elizabeth National Park. During the game drive, you will have the opportunity to encounter several animal species, including elephants, lions, buffalo, antelopes, hippos, and many others.
After the game drive, embark on a 3–4-hour scenic drive to Lake Mburo National Park, with lunch enroute in Mbarara City.
Upon arriving at the lodge, relax for a while before embarking on an evening game drive. You might encounter a range of animals on this trip, such as zebras, giraffes, buffaloes, elands, and other species.

After a relaxed breakfast, start your return trip to Entebbe Airport. Stop at the Uganda Equator along the journey to take a quick picture and maybe buy some locally crafted souvenirs.
