8-Day Uganda Safari: Gorillas, Chimps & Game viewing

You will be picked up in the morning from either Entebbe Airport or your hotel in Entebbe or Kampala and transferred to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary. Upon arrival, you will embark on a two-hour guided walk through the sanctuary in search of the white rhinos that were reintroduced and are now protected in Uganda. After the rhino tracking experience, you will continue your journey to Murchison Falls National Park, arriving later in the afternoon.

Today, you will explore Murchison Falls National Park, starting with a morning game drive. During this drive, you are likely to encounter a variety of wildlife, including giraffes, elephants, antelopes, lions, and buffalo. In the afternoon, you will embark on a three-hour boat ride to the base of the falls. This scenic journey offers an excellent opportunity to observe water-dwelling animals such as crocodiles and hippos.

After breakfast, begin your 7-hour journey to Kibale Forest National Park, enjoying scenic views of the landscape and tea plantations along the way. You will make a lunch stop in Fort Portal town before continuing your drive to the park.

Early in the morning, you will embark on a chimpanzee trekking experience in Kibale Forest, where you will have the opportunity to encounter several troops of chimpanzees, as well as other primate species and birds. Chimpanzee trekking usually lasts between 2 and 4 hours, and once the chimpanzees are located, you will spend one hour observing them as they go about their daily activities.
After the chimpanzee trekking experience, you will proceed to Queen Elizabeth National Park for relaxation and your overnight stay.

Early in the morning, embark on a game drive adventure to explore the rich wildlife of Queen Elizabeth National Park. During the game drive, you will have the opportunity to encounter several animal species, including elephants, lions, buffalo, antelopes, hippos, and many others.
After the game drive, embark on a 4-hour scenic drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, located in southwestern Uganda.

Wake up early, enjoy breakfast, and then go to the gathering center for the briefing session regarding gorilla trekking rules and procedures. After the briefing, embark on a 3-6-hour trek passing through village gardens and dense jungle until you locate the gorillas. Once located, maintain a 7-meter distance to protect the gorillas’ health. Spend one unforgettable hour observing these gentle giants—females with young, young males, and the dominant silverback—feeding, playing, or resting.
After the trek, return to the lodge for a restful evening.

After breakfast, drive six hours to Lake Mburo National Park, which is famous for its antelope and zebra herds.
After arriving at the lodge, relax for a while before embarking on an evening game drive. You might encounter a range of animals on this trip, such as zebras, giraffes, buffaloes, elands, and other species.

After a relaxed breakfast, start your return trip to Entebbe Airport. Stop at the Uganda Equator along the journey to take a quick picture and maybe buy some locally crafted souvenirs.
