Uganda Adventure: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi & Relax at Lake Bunyonyi

After breakfast, the journey to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park begins. En route to the park, you will make a stop at the Uganda Equator for a brief photo opportunity and perhaps to purchase locally made souvenirs. Along the way, enjoy views of rural communities and the scenic cattle farms of Mbarara and Ntungamo districts.

After breakfast, proceed to the ranger station for a comprehensive briefing on trekking guidelines and safety procedures. You will then enter Bwindi Forest, a dense and mountainous landscape characterized by steep slopes and winding trails where mountain gorillas roam freely. The duration of the trek varies depending on the location of the gorillas. Once they are located, you will spend up to one hour observing these remarkable primates in their natural habitat.

Following the trek, embark on a 1-2 hours’ drive to Lake Bunyonyi. The lake is renowned for its 29 islands, terraced hillsides, and rich birdlife, offering scenic views throughout your stay.

Enjoy a relaxing breakfast overlooking the scenic islands of Lake Bunyonyi. Afterward, begin your long return journey of about 9 hours to Entebbe Airport. Along the way, continue enjoying beautiful views of the landscape of the western and southwestern region.
